Suhail I. Ahmad, CIM
Chairman, President & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Ahmad is the visionary Co-Founder and
Managing Director of Ittihad Capital Corporation, a private equity and
financial services firm. As the Chairman & CEO of Ittihad Securities
Inc., the Investment Banking
subsidiary of Ittihad Capital, Mr. Ahmad is a pioneer in the development
of ethical
socially responsible investment and interest-free financing in Canada. Prior to
joining Ittihad, Mr. Ahmad served over 7 years as the President and CEO of
Everest Financial Group Inc., and helped establish the firm’s financial
advisory and risk management business in Alberta, Canada. Mr. Ahmad also held the position of
Vice-President Finance with an IT
company for three years and the position of Sales Manager with an emerging
telecom firm for over two years, giving him “hands-on” management
experience of small and mid-market enterprises (SME). Canadian born, Mr.
Ahmad has a Bachelors in Economics from the University of Calgary and has
completed numerous financial and professional courses including earning
the prestigious Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation from the
Canadian Securities Institute.
With over 10 years of investment and financial services experience, Mr.
Ahmad sits on several business advisory boards and is a recipient of the
Alberta Centennial Award issued by the Government of Alberta for his
outstanding contribution to Canadian business.
M. Firaaz Azeez
Vice-President and Director - Private Client
Services
Mr.
Azeez has spent over 13 years in the Financial Services industry working
with National Trust, Canada Trust and the TD Bank Financial Group where he
specialized in Wealth Management and Financial Advisory. He was a member
of the prestigious Private Investment Counsel divisions at both Canada
Trust and TD Bank, where he managed relationships with the firms’ High
Net-Worth clients. At Ittihad, he is Vice-President of the Wealth
Management division, responsible for both Strategic and Operational
management. A graduate of the University of Toronto in Commerce, Mr. Azeez
holds the Professional Financial Planner’s designation from the Canadian
Securities Institute and brings a diverse set of experiences from several
disciplines within Banking and Finance. Mr. Azeez is an active member of
the Toronto community involved in numerous social service initiatives as a
volunteer and board member.
Siddiq Mohamed
Manager - Structured Products & Sales
Mr. Mohamed is a seasoned sales professional with extensive experience in
structuring products and services specially tailored to meet specific
client needs. He has successfully completed both a degree in Economics
from York University, in addition to studying Management at the University
of Toronto. His client-centric approach and strong technical background
makes Mr. Mohamed an instrumental component of Ittihad's corporate
finance team. An active member of the Greater Toronto Area community, he
is involved with several social service initiatives; including the Muslim
Cancer Support Group, children’s Soccer League and volunteering as an
instructor in language and religious studies.
Jawad Qureshy, CFP
Manager - Private
Equity & Corporate Services
Mr.Qureshy has had over a decade-long association with the Financial
Industry. He graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Economics and Psychology
from the University of Toronto, after being sponsored by the Economics
Faculty for the Golden Key International Honour Society. He has worked for
Citibank in Pakistan and Singapore, the former in the Private Client
Division of CitiGold and the latter in the field of Credit Policy. Prior
to joining Ittihad Securities, he was an independent Financial Advisor for
three years, where he worked with clients to develop and implement
comprehensive financial plans. He has completed the Professional Financial
Planner certification (PFP) and attained the prestigious Certified
Financial Planner designation (CFP) along with completing the LLQP. Mr. Qureshy is an active
member of the community, having been involved in an advisory board
capacity at the Children's Peace Theatre of Toronto and the Noor Cultural
Centre.
Golam Mowla
Manager - Global
Markets
Mr. Mowla has
more than ten years experience in investment banking activities including
structuring Initial Public Offerings (IPO's), private placements, company
& equity research, feasibility studies and project evaluation as well as
in investment counselling and financial consultancy. He has served in key
positions in some of the largest conglomerates in Asia namely Square and
Bashundhara Group. Mr. Mowla also played an important role in developing
and launching the Bangladesh IFCG and IFCI indices and in their inclusion
in the Emerging Markets Database (EMDB) of International Finance
Corporation (IFC). Prior to joining Ittihad Securities, he worked as a
Financial Consultant for r-pac International Group LLC of USA. Mr. Mowla
holds a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Dhaka and a
Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from Bangladesh Institute of
Management.
