Khalid Usman, CA
Chairman
Mr. Usman, a Chartered Accountant with over 35 years of
business and professional experience in both private and
public company environments, providing critical oversight
and evaluation of the company’s development projects,
business holdings, and financings. Prior to joining Ittihad
in December 2006,
Mr. Usman served as Chief
Financial Officer for nine years at Tri-Vision International
Ltd. a publicly traded company on the TSX Stock Exchange. He
was also an elected Councilor for the City of Markham for
three consistent terms and continues to a board
member for Tri-Vision International Ltd. He is also a
director with York Region Community Foundation, and
Universal Youth Foundation. and former President of
International Development Relief Foundation (IDRF). Mr.
Usman is a recipient of the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship
& Culture’s five years of Community Service Award.
Suhail I. Ahmad, CIM
Co-Founder, President & CEO
Mr. Ahmad is the visionary Co-Founder and CEO
of Ittihad Capital Corporation, a private equity and
financial services firm and the Chairman & CEO of its
Investment Banking subsidiary Ittihad Securities Inc. Mr.
Ahmad is a pioneer in ethical socially responsible investment and
financing in Canada and prior to joining Ittihad, Mr. Ahmad
served over 7 years as the President and CEO of Everest
Financial Group Inc., and helped establish the firm’s
financial advisory and risk management business. Mr. Ahmad
also held the position of Vice-President Finance with an
IT company for three years and the position of
Sales Manager with an emerging telecom firm for over two
years, giving him “hands-on” management experience of small
and mid-market enterprises (SME). Canadian born, Mr. Ahmad
has a Bachelors in Economics from the University of Calgary and has
completed numerous financial and professional courses including earning
the prestigious Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation
from the Canadian Securities Institute.
With over 10 years of investment and financial services experience, Mr.
Ahmad sits on several business advisory boards and is a recipient of the
Alberta Centennial Award issued by the Government of Alberta
for his outstanding contribution to Canadian business.
M. Firaaz Azeez
Director, Executive
Vice-President
Mr. Azeez has spent over 13 years in the
Financial Services industry working with National Trust,
Canada Trust and the TD Bank Financial Group where he
specialized in Wealth Management and Financial Advisory. He
was a member of the prestigious Private Investment Counsel
divisions at both Canada Trust and TD Bank, where he managed
relationships with the firms’ High Net-Worth clients. At
Ittihad, he is Vice-President of the Wealth Management
division, responsible for both Strategic and Operational
management. A graduate of the University of Toronto in
Commerce, Mr. Azeez holds the Professional Financial
Planner’s designation from the Canadian Securities Institute
and brings a diverse set of experiences from several
disciplines within Banking and Finance. Mr. Azeez is an
active member of the Toronto community involved in numerous
social service initiatives as a volunteer and board member.
Ahmed R. Docrat, PhD
Director
Dr. Docrat is practicing family Physician and has worked as
a medical doctor in South Africa for 10 years. Qualified in
Dublin, Dr. Docrat has served as a medical professional for
over 14 years in Calgary and rural Alberta. He has also been
actively involved in Calgary’s North West community and is
also a founding member of the non-profit Iqra Foundation in
Calgary. Dr. Docrat operates his medical practice in Calgary
and has dedicated the past 24 years to helping individuals
and communities in the field of medicine and social work.
Khalid Amin
Director
Mr. Amin has held various senior executive positions with
both private and publicly traded companies primarily in the
oil and gas industry. Mr. Amin most recent tenure was with
Request Seismic Surveys Ltd., during his tenure at Request
Seismic Surveys, the firm grew from an initial public
offering stage to a company with $100+ million market
capitalization listed on the TSX Exchange and was later
transformed into an income trust fund. Mr. Amin resides in
Calgary and brings over 18 years of management and marketing
experience to the company.
